DOWNLOADDOWNLOADIn a game of poker, 'rake' means a certain fee that an online poker platform charge from the player for hosting a poker game. It is a small percentage of the amount of money taken from the pot in cash games. In tournaments, the rake is collected from the buy-in fees. The rake is the primary source of income that the online poker rooms make from poker games.
Since Poker is a player vs player game, the hosting platform doesn’t bet against its players. Therefore, rake is the primary source in poker games to generate revenue.
PokerBaazi charges rake like any other hosting platform and the same has been updated as per the latest GST changes that has been in effect since 1st October, 2023. You can check the amount of rake charged on each variation of the game and the table stakes on the table below:

Tournament Rake:
A Fixed Entry fee is charged in poker tournaments. The Entry fee may vary from tournament to tournament and the split of the tournament buy-in and Entry fee can be viewed in the tournament lobby of every tournament. (The service fee of 28% mentioned below is not charged in case of poker tournaments)
*With the new GST changes (effective 1st October 2023), there is 28% GST applicable on all deposits. At PokerBaazi, we take pride in our continuous efforts towards building a world-class, seamless gaming experience for all our players. Hence, we bear the entire GST on deposits for our players.
A Service Fee of 28% is applicable on the rake charged (and not on the deposits). Please note that this fee already existed in the form of 18% GST earlier. So, this is effectively only around a 0.25% to 0.5% change. While it may seem a small amount, it helps us manage some part of our expenses and help sustain the Poker ecosystem. We truly appreciate the support from our players.
*Rake charged on Flash and Turbo tables is same as that on normal tables.
*In All-in or fold format, a flat rake is charged in each hand irrespective of the pot size.
